New horizons

On May 6, 2008, I received the following letter from the French Consulate in Ottawa:

“Hello, Congratulation! We will offer you a position as a Teaching English Assistant in France for the year 2008/2009. Your candidature will be forwarded to the Academy (school board) of Versailles for a high school level which is a 7 months contract. You will receive your “arrĂȘte de nomination” this summer (before September 15th). This document will indicate the name of the school where you will be posted and the name of the person who is in charge of you at the Academy (school board). Once you have received this document, you are please to get in touch with this person and make your appointment with the French Consulate of your jurisdiction through Internet in order to apply for your visa.”

The original job offer was in French, of course. And, as you can see from this somewhat clumsy translation, my services are indeed needed over there!
